Staldra

Staldra are enemies that have appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

		Target lock: Staldra This is a snake monster from before the dawn of time. Three bone-plated heads and a thirst to cause pain keep it writhing even beyond death. My analysis shows that to defeat this cursed snake, all three of its heads must be simultaneously destroyed.

A Staldra is a snake-like enemy with three heads. In order to defeat Staldra, Link must use a single sword slash to attack all three heads simultaneously. If link only hits one or two of the heads, the decapitated heads will quickly grow back, restoring Staldra to full life.

Each of Staldra's eyes are of a greenish-blue color. However, when Link comes near, the eyes of Staldra will turn red, and it will dash forward, trying to attack Link. This can easily be avoided by taking a step back or utilizing your shield.

A spin attack when all three of Staldra's heads are parallel to the ground will make quick work of this enemy. A standard slash at the angle of the heads is also effective, but often more difficult.

Trivia

• This enemy's name is a portmanteau of "Stal-", referring to skeletal creatures in Zelda series, and "Hydra", a mythical dragon with more than one head.
• All Staldra's will always drop a single red rupee.
