Male and Female Stag Beetles are collectable Golden Bugs which can both be found North of Hyrule Castle. When brought to Agitha, she will say: "Li'l stag beetle, li'l stag beetle, your spiky pinchers are so sharp! They must feel so good..." (which to me sounds somewhat suggestive). She gives you 50 rupees for one and 100 for both, as usual.

In Skyward Sword they appear as "Sky Stag Beetles" and can be found in Skyloft or Bug Rock. Sky Stag Beetles are slow-moving, usually found on walls or trees. Link can roll into the wall or tree to knock them down, then pick them up by walking to them. They can, however, be crushed by a subsequent roll, or by running up the surface before knocking them off. If Link does not pick them up quickly enough, they will right themselves from their fall and fly away. Like the other insects in the game, Sky Stag Beetles are a Potion Infusion component, used by Bertie to upgrade the stock potions Luv sells at the Bazaar. Beetles are one ingredient in the Stamina Potion and Air Potion upgrades. Strich will buy Link's excess Beetles for 20 Rupees each at night, in his room at the Knight Academy.
