South Tabantha Snowfield is a location in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

The South Tabantha Snowfield is the wide open and fairly flat area located just north of the Hebra Tower and all around the Snowfield Stable. The temperature of the snowfield is bitterly cold, where Link will need to wear some armor with Cold Resistance, such as the Snowquill Set, in order to survive.

There area has a variety of cold weather creatures, including some Cold-Footed Wolves, Tabantha Moose, White Pigeons, and a few Great-Horned Rhinoceroses. Likewise, the materials that Link find are found more commonly in colder climates, including Chillshrooms, Cool Safflina, and Wildberries.

There are some enemy Black Bokoblin found in the area riding on Horses. These Bokoblin are a bit dangerous as some of them wield Fire Arrows. Some Ice-Breath Lizalfos and Snow Octoroks can also be found. Some more dangerous Silver Bokoblin appear as well, which are significantly more powerful.

About halfway between the Hebra Tower and Snowfield Stable, just to the east of the path, there is a small group of a few trees. If Link uses Magnesis, he will see a treasure chest buried in the snow that contains five Shock Arrows.

Rin Oyaa Shrine

Main article: Rin Oyaa Shrine

The Rin Oyaa Shrine can be found within the South Tabantha Snowfield in close proximity to the Snowfield Stable. The shrine requires Link to move metal blocks and block certain fans. Then Link can drop a ball and the existing fans will blow the ball around the room, eventually landing in the proper hole, allowing Link to reach the alter where Rin Oyaa awaits.

Tears of the Kingdom

The South Tabantha Snowfield is a wide open, snowy area, found in the area that surrounds the Snowfield Stable.

Link can see Addison, holding up a Hudson Sign, along the main path, southwest of the Snowfield Stable. Link can use the nearby Hyrule Restoration Materials to hold up the sign. As a thanks, Addison will reward Link with a Red Rupee, some Spicy Veggie Rice Balls, and a Sleepover Ticket.

Directly north of the Snowfield Stable, there are numerous Bokoblin riding on top of Horses. One of the Bokoblin here is riding on a Horse and Carriage. Inside the carriage there is a wooden chest that contains five Arrows.

Bring Peace to Hebra!

Main article: Bring Peace to Hebra!

After first completing the Bring Peace to Faron! quest, Flaxel's Squad can be found outside the monster base, a bit south of Snowfield Stable. They are ready to charge, but won't do so until the Iron Ball at the enemy base is removed. Link can charge ahead and use Fuse on the iron ball to get rid of it.

The base itself has a Bokoblin, several Blue Bokoblin, a Black Bokoblin, and a Blue Boss Bokoblin. Inside the base there are several treasure chests which include an Opal, an Amber, five Arrows, and a Hinox Hammer.

There are also some weapons around, including a Spiked-Iron-Ball Hammer and a Snowball Claymore.

Korok Seeds

  • At the far south end of the snowfield, east of the main path and east of the large hill in the area, there are some ruins of an old building. Shoot the jar in the building to get the Korok Seed.
  • Just south of the stable, on the east side of the road, there are two offering pots. Drop some Ice Fruit in one of the plates to get the Korok Seed.
  • Just west of the stable, there is a large rock sticking out of the ground with a stump on the ceiling. Ascend through the stump to get the Korok Seed.
  • At the large enemy camp at the southeast of the snowfield, there are three treasure chests next to each other. On top of the rock structure above, Link can lift a small rock to get a Korok Seed.
  • Just east of the Snowfield Stable, there is a Korok trying to reunite with his friend. Carry the Korok well to the north to reunite them and get a pair of Korok Seeds.
