Instead of large sword blades or spears like the other soldiers, these foes wield much smaller daggers. The actual daggers that the soldiers wield do no additional damage than any other part of its body. Thus, if Link has his [[Green Mail|Green Tunic]], he will take a 1/2 heart of damage if the dagger hits him, or if Link simply comes into contact with any part of the soldier.

This article is about the enemy Soldier. For the uncorrupted Soldier, see Soldier.

A Soldier is a common enemy and weak enemy that has appeared in A Link to the Past, Four Swords Adventures, A Link Between Worlds and Tri Force Heroes.

These enemies come in many different forms, with each of them varying slightly from one another based on their color and particular skill sets. In addition to the varieties of enemy Soldiers, there are also several types of Archers and Troopers found throughout the games.

Appearances

A Link to the Past

Main article: Sword Soldier

In addition to Archers and Knights, there are a variety of color variations and types of Soldiers in A Link to the Past. The weakest of these enemies are the mindless that will patrol back and forth without making an attempt to attack Link. There are also the more aggressive Sword Soldiers that will charge towards Link as soon as they spot him.

Green Soldier

The Green short sworded Soldier is the weakest soldier in A Link to the Past. They are the very first enemies that Link will encounter. After reaching the Hidden Path and finding your Uncle wounded, Link will acquire the Fighter's Sword and Fighter's Shield. On the following screen, Link will encounter two green soldiers.

These somewhat mindless soldiers will patrol back and forth, making no real attempt to harm Link. They will change direction and slowly move in Link's direction, but they do not show nearly the same aggression as other types of Soldiers.

Despite wielding shields, these base soldiers have no defensive mechanism at all and any sword slash that contacts the soldier will do damage. Two sword slashes with the Fighter's Sword will do them in.

Instead of large sword blades or spears like the other soldiers, these foes wield much smaller daggers. The actual daggers that the soldiers wield do no additional damage than any other part of its body. Thus, if Link has his Green Tunic, he will take a 1/2 heart of damage if the dagger hits him, or if Link simply comes into contact with any part of the soldier.

A Link Between Worlds

Main article: Sword Soldier

In Lorule Castle there are also counterparts known as Lorule Soldiers.

Trivia

  • All Soldiers will wield their swords in their right hand in A Link to the Past. However, when they turn and face the west side of the screen, they will then be wielding their sword with their left hand. This is likely due to the top-down graphical display limitations.
