Slime Eyes is the Nightmare found within Key Cavern, the third dungeon of Link's Awakening. It guards the Sea Lily's Bell.

Battle

Upon first entering the room, the area appears to be empty. Slime Eyes says that Link won't be able to find him.[1] Zols continue to fall from the ceiling. Link can knock down the Slime Eyes from above by running into the wall with the Pegasus Boots. At first, it looks like one giant eye, but after Link slashes it enough times with his sword, it will slowly split it into two separate eyes. Once they are connected only by a thread, he can rush into it with the Pegasus Boots, cutting off their connection. Both eyes will then attack him separately, each one occasionally jumping up to the ceiling and falling back down with a crash that will temporarily stun Link. He must hit them with his sword until both eyes are defeated. A Heart Container then appears and Link is allowed passage into the next room, which holds the Sea Lily's Bell.
