"You've heard about set bonuses, right? How a set of clothes that have all been enhanced twice could have a bonus? But only if you wear the whole set! Well, and not all sets have a bonus..."

Protective Effects and Buffs

Set Bonuses are extra properties of armor sets in Breath of the Wild. They are different from protective effects and buffs.

Set Bonuses are awarded when whole sets are upgraded to ★★ tier at a Great Fairy Fountain.

While individual parts of armors have different properties, when worn as part of a whole enhanced set, Set Bonuses take effect.

Set Bonuses may have overlapping properties with protective effects and buffs from other individual armor parts, or from consumables, though unlike the latter, they are effectively permanent.
