The Sage is a character in The Adventure of Link. He is encountered at the end of the Great Palace after defeating Thunderbird and serves as the protector of the Triforce of Courage. As a final test, he creates Link's greatest challenge: his own Shadow.
After Link defeats this final enemy, he is awarded the Triforce of Courage and is able to break the spell cast on Princess Zelda I.
