The Sacred Forest Meadow is a place that appears in Ocarina of Time. It is where Link has to travel in order to learn Saria's Song from Saria. The meadow is split into two parts: the maze and the entrance to the Forest Temple. The Meadow is located within the Lost Woods and is very hard to find if Link doesn't follow the tune of the song playing in the Woods. A Fairy Fountain can be found in the middle of the maze.

History

Spoiler Alert! This section describes a subject that is sensitive to plot development.

Child

Link must travel here in order to learn Saria's Song, because Saria likes to come here and play it. As a child the maze is guarded by many Mad Scrubs and a single Wolfos at the entrance. After Link gets past these enemies and goes up the long stairs, he enters into the entrance into the Forest Temple. In the middle is the Forest platform and in the corner is a tree stump where Saria sits. Up ahead and out of child Link's reach is the broken entrance to the Forest Temple.

Adult

Link returns here when he needs to enter the Forest Temple. The environment itself hasn't changed a bit; only the enemies are different. Deku Scrubs have been replaced by Moblins and Saria is gone. As an adult Link learns the Minuet of Forest from Sheik, and with this song he can warp to the Sacred Forest Meadow whenever he wants. As an adult, Link has the ability to use his Hookshot in order to enter the Forest Temple and awaken Saria as one of the Seven Sages.
