Template:Item

Rupees are the unit of currency within most of the Zelda universe. It is used in: Hyrule, Koholint Island, Termina, Labrynna, Holodrum, the Great Sea, the World of the Ocean King, New Hyrule, and Skyloft.

Locations and Uses

Rupees can be found virtually anywhere. The most common ways Link can find Rupees is by breaking jars, cutting grass, and/or defeating various enemies.

Jars

After breaking a jar, something will usually pop out of it. The most common item that appears is a Rupee. Other items that can be collected include Magic Jars, or Recovery Hearts. It is often completely random of what appears and doesn't appear.

Grass

Cutting grass will usually result in an item to appear. Rupees are the most common item to have appeared after cutting grase. Magic Jars and Recovery Hearts can also be collected through this process.

Enemies

Upon defeating an enemy, they will occasionally drop an item. This item could be almost anything. Rupees, Magic Jars, Recovery Hearts, and even Treasure are some of the most common items.

Values

With the exceptions of The Adventure of Link and Four Swords Adventures, Rupees have appeared in every Zelda game to date. Rupees' values are generally denoted by their color, but also can vary by size as well.
