Riddles of Hyrule is a Side Quest from Breath of the Wild.
Requirements
- Begin The Hero's Sword Main Quest
This Side Quest is given by Walton, who is sleeping on the top of The Great Deku Tree located in the Korok Forest.
Walkthrough
You will be asked a series of riddles that you must solve. Drop the correct item onto the leaf to solve each riddle. You can then pick it back up again to keep it.
The first riddle refers to an Apple (Sensor+ #162). These can be found all over Hyrule if you do not already have any on you.
The second riddle refers to a Fortified Pumpkin (Sensor+ #191). These are grown in Kakariko Village. Attempt to pick one up in order to buy one for 20 rupees.
The third riddle refers to a Sunshroom (Sensor+ #177). These can be found all over as well, particularly in Eldin, or in Gerudo.
The fourth riddle refers to a Voltfin Trout (Sensor+ #054). These can be found in the Zora River, but only if it is raining.
The fifth riddle refers to a Lynel Hoof. Obtain one from killing a Lynel.
After solving the fifth riddle, you will receive a Diamond as a reward.
Tip: If you have done the Slated for Upgrades Side Quest and have the Sheikah Sensor +, and already have a picture of the items needed, you can set it as your Sensor+ target for help in finding one.
Bonus Tip: If you do not already have a picture of the items needed, and if you have done the Sunshroom Sensing Side Quest as well, you can talk to Symin at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab and purchase pictures for your compendium (at 100 rupees each, getting a random picture each time, can buy in bulk if desired) until you have the pictures needed. You can then set one as your Sensor+ target for help in finding one.

First Riddle
You have decided to take on the Riddles of Hyrule trial.
"Small, red, round, and sweet!
Bring me one of this simple treat!"
Once you know the answer, bring the item to Walton!
Second Riddle
You answered the first riddle correctly. The second riddle is:
"Kakariko Village's specialty fruit!
Its rock-hard flesh is quite resolute!"
Once you know the answer, bring the item to Walton!
Third Riddle
You answered the second riddle correctly. The third riddle is:
"This sultry shroom will warm your bones.
It makes its home in warmer zones."
Once you know the answer, bring the item to Walton!
Fourth Riddle
You answered the third riddle correctly. The fourth riddle is:
"Its scales and tail will zap you, no doubt!
This shocking swimmer is called a...fish."
Once you know the answer, bring the item to Walton!
Fifth Riddle
You answered the fourth riddle correctly. The fifth riddle is:
"If stepped on by this, you will go poof!
It starts with an H and ends with an oof!"
Once you know the answer, bring the item to Walton!
Completed Quest
You answered all five of Walton's riddles, completing the Riddles of Hyrule trial!
