— In-Game Description[1]

The Red Ring is a Magical Ring that Link acquires in Oracle of Seasons by defeating all four of the Golden Beasts found throughout the Overworld. From the Gnarled Root Dungeon, travel east two screens and use the Rod of Seasons to change the season to Summer. Walk back left two screens and then head down a screen. The water has receded, revealing a hidden staircase. Climb down to find an Old Man who tells Link to slay the four Golden Beasts to gain a secret power.

"If you want true power, then slay the four golden beasts that roam the land. Then I shall grant my power to you. So far, you've slain ."

After speaking with this Old Man, four Golden Beasts appear within the Overworld. Their locations are as follows.

After defeating all four of the Golden Beasts, return to the Old Man just south of Gnarled Root Dungeon during Summer and receive the Seed Ring.

While very rare, it is possible for Link to acquire a Seed Ring from a Gasha Tree that contains the Red Ring.

There is no possible way to acquire the ring in Oracle of Ages directly, but it can be acquired by using the Ring Secret.

When equipped, the Red Ring doubles the strength of Link's Sword. Unlike the Power Ring L-2, which also doubles Link's Sword, the Red Ring has no effect on the damage done by enemies.

A similar ring affecting Link's Defense can be acquired in the form of the Blue Ring. There is another color-based ring that combines the effects of the Red and Blue Ring in the form of the Green Ring.
