Red Potion is an reoccurring item in The Legend of Zelda series. It has the ability of healing Link's hearts. It may be obtained by a potion shop or by  making it out of [[Chu Jelly]] on [[Windfall Island]]. Red Potion is a recurring Potion in The Legend of Zelda series, which has the ability to restore Link's Hearts. Usually, it must be kept inside of a Bottle, and can be found in Potion Shops.

The Legend of Zelda

In The Legend of Zelda, the Red Potion is referred to as the 2nd Potion or the Red Water of Life. It can be obtained by giving the Letter from the Old Man to the Old Woman , who will then allow Link to buy her Potions. The 2nd Potion costs 68 Rupees - it fully restores Link's health and converts into a Life Potion when drunk, effectively giving it two uses.

A Link to the Past

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the Red Potion is referred to as the Medicine of Life, and fully restores Link's health when drunk. It can be bought from shops for 120 Rupees.

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, Link can buy Red Potions from potion shops and various Business Scrubs found throughout Hyrule, although the latter often sell it for a higher price. Red Potions fully restore Link's health when drunk and are consumed after use.

Majora's Mask

In Majora's Mask, Red Potions can be bought from Kotake in the Magic Hags' Potion Shop, the Trading Post, the Zora Shop, and the Goron Shop. Kotake will also give Link a free bottle of Red Potion to heal the injured Koume in the Woods of Mystery. The Red Potion can be given to Shiro, and in return he will give Link the Stone Mask. Additionally, Red Potion can be used to cure the curse that Blue Bubbles put on Link. Otherwise, Red Potion has the same effect as in Ocarina of Time.

The Wind Waker

The Red Potion must be made with Chu Jelly in The Wind Waker. Link can take jelly from a Red ChuChu to the Chu Jelly Juice Shop on Windfall Island to make it. It restores all of his hearts.

The Minish Cap

The Red Potion can be bought from Syrup in Minish Woods for 150 rupees. However, the Red Potion must be unlocked first before it can be purchased. To unlock this, Link must fuse Kinstones with the Forest Picori in South Hyrule Field. The Red Potion will fill all of Link's hearts, unlike the Blue Potion, which only fills eight.

Twilight Princess

Unlike in previous games, the Red Potion in Twilight Princess only restores eight hearts instead of all of them. It can be bought and held in a bottle. A similar item is Chu Jelly, which also restores eight hearts but is instead found from Chus.

Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks

In both Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, the Red Potion only restores six hearts. Like all potions in those games, it does not need to be held in a bottle. It can be purchased from various shops across the world, such as from Beedle.

A Link Between Worlds
