Found in Termina in Majora's Mask, these are the living mouse-like counterpart of the Bombchu which run around and explode upon contact with Link. The easiest and most effective way to deal with this foe is to run into them while pressing the shield button. Another effective method is to shoot a simple arrow at them from afar.
In The Wind Waker, there are dark rats carrying bombs. According to the figurine description, these are indeed Real Bombchu. They pick up their bomb and throw it at Link, then go back to their hole to restock. Defeat this foe when it's out of its hole.
