"A sword forged with magical light, making it light as a feather. Use the Strong Attack button to gather the power of light, and strike with more devastating strength when using a Combo Attack!"

— In-game description

The Rapier is the default weapon class used by Princess Zelda in Hyrule Warriors. While wielding the weapon, Zelda fights using the rapier, the Bow of Light, and light magic.

Variations

  • Polished Rapier: The Level 1 variation. It is a standard, steel rapier, with a purple grip and a dull gold, curved cross-guard. Takes design cues from the rapier seen in the title screen of The Legend of Zelda.
  • Glittering Rapier: The Level 2 variation. The rapier's blade is pure white and slightly serrated, with a blue grip, elegant blue-and-gold cross-guard, and gold pommel. An upside-down triangle emblem can be seen on the hilt, which is stylized after a pair of wings.
  • Gleaming Rapier: The Level 3 variation. The rapier's blade is straight and pure white, with an enormous, stylized cross-guard depicting the Triforce in the center of a gold frame. This is paired with a white grip, a purple-and-white pommel, and an enormous cross-guard stylized after two wings. The right wing stretches out and along the length of the rapier.
  • 8-Bit White Sword?: The Level ★ variation. Zelda wields the White Sword from The Legend of Zelda, rendered in 3D.
  • Gleaming Rapier +: The Level 4 variation. It appears identical to the Gleaming Rapier.
  • Gloomy Rapier: The Level 4+ variation. It appears similar to the Gleaming Rapier, but with a purple color scheme.

Moveset

Zelda can have up to three Light Charges stored, indicated by a counter below her Special Attack gauge. Light Charges can be consumed to enhance Zelda's extended Combo Attacks.

Attack Explanation
Base String? Zelda performs a series of five attacks; She performs two quick slashes, slashes to the left and thrusts forward, slashes twice again, performs a left slash followed by a downward slash, and dash forward with a light-powered thrust attack. Performing the complete string will give Zelda a Light Charge.
C1? Zelda raises her rapier to the air, instantly giving herself three Light Charges.
C2? Zelda backflips with a rising upward strike, knocking enemies into the air; This can be extended, causing her to follow up with a flurry of stabs.
Enhanced: If Zelda has Light Charges available, she will instead follow up by summoning a ball of light and slamming it down in front of her, jumping into the air and shooting a Light Arrow directly downwards, and perform a slam attack that sends out an X-shockwave. The first two attacks will each consume a Light Charge.
C3? Zelda jumps up and performs a wide right slash; This can be extended, causing her to dash downwards with a thrust attack and perform an upward slash.
Enhanced: If Zelda has Light Charges available, she will instead follow up by firing a Light Arrow straight ahead, firing directly downwards, and performing a slam attacks that sends out an X-shockwave. The first two attacks will each consume a Light Charge.
C4? Zelda performs a series of left-and-right dash attacks straight ahead; This can be extended, causing her to perform a series of mid-air thrusts, followed by a slam attack that sends out an X-shockwave.
Enhanced: If Zelda has Light Charges available, she will instead follow up by shooting a volley of Light Arrows into the air, which rain down in whichever direction you are holding the control stick. This will consume one Light Charge.
C5? Zelda dashes forward with a series of left-and-right slashes, followed by a wide right slash.
Enhanced: If Zelda has Light Charges available, she can extend the attack by hovering into the air, creating a Triforce of Wisdom symbol on the ground, and blasting the surrounding area with sacred energy. This consumes one Light Charge.
Special Attack Zelda summons the Bow of Light and fires a single Light Arrow straight ahead.
Focus Spirit Finisher Manual: Zelda creates a magic circle in front of her, within which she creates and shatters an icicle, summons a cyclone, and finishes with an explosion.
Automatic: Zelda creates a bubble of light in the air and pops it with a Light Arrow, creating a magical explosion below it.
Weak Point Smash Enemy Captain/Warrior: Zelda summons the Bow of Light and shoots three Light Arrows at her target.
Giant Boss: TBA
Victory Animation Zelda swings her rapier, before pointing it to the ground and demanifesting it. She then holds her hands to her chests in prayer, before looking up at the player and smiling.

Trivia

  • If the player presses X / Y as Zelda flinches from taking damage, she will consume one Light Charge to slam her rapier to the ground, creating a burst of light around her.
