The Power Glove is a recurring item in Legend of Zelda series. It grants Link different effects in the different games it appears in. While referred to as a glove, it is decidedly more similar in appearance to a metallic gauntlet.

Appearances

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

The Power Glove is the main treasure of the Desert Palace. When worn, the Power Glove bestows upon Link incredible physical strength, allowing him to pick up small and big grey stones scattered around Hyrule. A stronger glove known as the Titan's Mitt can be obtained later on in the game. This is needed to pick up the black stones.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

The Power Glove is an upgrade of the Power Bracelet that allows Link to pick up the big blue statues found in the game. It is found in the final dungeon, Ancient Tomb. Its appearance is similar to that of the Handy Glove found in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.

Theory

The Power Glove may have been inspired by a peripheral of the same name for the NES that allowed the user to utilize motion controls akin to those of the Wii. Today, it is notorious among gamers because of its various technical flaws.
