Pokeys are another cameo enemy from the Super Mario series. They're made of a maximum of four individual segments with a head in topmost segment. When Link attacks a Pokey, one of its sections will break off and ricochet around the area before it is destroyed. The head of a Pokey must be destroyed to defeat it.

Appearances

Link's Awakening

Pokeys made cameo appearance along with several other enemies from the Mario games. Here, they are found in Yarna Desert. It is best to avoid these enemies if possible, since they move slowly. Starting off with a Spin Attack, then slicing a sword rapidly at the Pokey is a good method of defeating them.

Oracle of Seasons

Pokeys act the same as they did in Link's Awakening. Here, they are found in the Samasa Desert. If Link attacks a Pokey with a Mystery Seed, the Pokey will recover destroyed segments of their body.
