Piranha Plants are enemies from Link's Awakening.

Appearances

Link's Awakening

Piranha plants are another popular enemy from Super Mario Bros series that made cameo appearances in Link's Awakening. Piranha plants are found only in a few dungeons on Koholint Island. Unlike some of their counterparts in the Super Mario Bros series, they do not spit fireballs.

These carnivorous plants have sharp teeth, and hide in pipes in the side-scrolling sections of the dungeon. Piranha plants will often be found in the same room as the goomba, since both are cameos from the Super Mario Bros games. Link must time his jump correctly to miss the Piranha Plant, or jump towards it while swinging his sword to defeat it in one hit.
