Pirahna plants are another popular enemy from Super Mario Bros games that made cameo appearances in Link's Awakening. Pirahna plants are only found in a few dungeons on Koholint Island. Unlike some of their counterparts in the Super Mario Bros series, they do not spit fireballs.
These carnivorous plants have sharp teeth, and hide in pipes in the side-scrolling sections of the dungeon. Pirahna plants will often be found in the same room as the goomba, since both are cameos from the Super Mario Bros games.
