The Phantom Set is an Armor set from the Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass and Tears of the Kingdom, based on Phantoms.

Breath of the Wild

This section describes a subject exclusive to game downloadable content and may not apply to the base game.

The Phantom Set can be found in three chests throughout Hyrule Field. It is part of the EX Treasure: Phantasma side quest that was made available in The Master Trials DLC.

It's based on the animated Phantom armors from Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks.

Locations

Link can find Misko's EX Journal, located in one of the southern buildings of the Outpost Ruins. Here he will find a hint on the location, advancing the EX Treasure: Phantasma quest.

Armor worn by fierce phantoms feared even by heroes, is hidden in the ruins of Hyrule Field. Find these pieces at a battleground, where brave souls tested their skill... at ceremonial grounds where royal guards are honored... and at the ruins where the soldiers of Hyrule gathered.

  • Phantom Helmet - The journal points Link towards a battleground, where brave souls tested their skill. This refers to the Coliseum Ruins, located at just north of the Great Plateau. The chest is along the northwestern wall of the ground floor.
  • Phantom Armor - The journal points Link towards the ceremonial grounds where royal guards are honored. This refers to the Sacred Ground Ruins located at the north end of Hyrule Field, just south of Hyrule Castle. The chest is located in the shallow pond just southeast of the ceremonial platform.
  • Phantom Greaves - The journal points Link to ruins where the soldiers of Hyrule gathered. This is in reference to the Hyrule Garrison Ruins. Specifically, the treasure can be found buried underneath an inactive guardian at the southeast end of the ruins.

Abilities and Upgrades

Each item in the set has a power of 8, giving it a total of 24 strength, making it the strongest DLC-exclusive set defensively (as other DLC sets are capped at 15). With each piece equipped, Link will get an Attack Up bonus, dealing more damage. However, the armor set is not enhanceable at a Great Fairy Fountain. The set also not dyeable.

The Attack Up bonus is equivalent to the ★★+ enhanced Barbarian Set, and can be obtained relatively early in the game, but at the high cost of defense, as the Barbarian Set can be enhanced to a total strength of 60. As such, this set is meant for players who are adept at damage-avoiding combat, and are skilled at Perfect Guard and Perfect Dodge.
