Phantom Hourglass Heart Containers

Phantom Hourglass features 13 Heart Containers scattered across the World of the Ocean King, giving Link a maximum of 16 Heart Containers to Link's health. Of the 13 Heart Containers Link can find, 7 of them are found as rewards for defeating the various bosses at the 7 Temples scattered around the world. There are then 6 additional Heart Containers to find. Below is listing of all the heart containers, in order that you can acquire them.

  Heart Container #1

  Location: Temple of Fire

  Conditions: Defeat Blaaz

  Given to Link as an award after defeating Blaaz, the boss of the Temple of Fire.

  Heart Container #2

  Location: Masked Shop

  Conditions: 1500 Rupees

  Purchased from Masked Beedle for 1500 Rupees at the Masked Shop. The Masked Shop only shows up at certain times during the day. It appears from 10PM - 12AM on Weekdays and 10AM - 12PM Weekends. You can adjust your consoles internal clock, save your game, and reload it to find the Masked Shop at sea.

  Heart Container #3

  Location: Bannan Island, Old Wayfarer's Hut

  Conditions: Fishing Rod, Big Catch Lure

  Link has to complete almost the entirety of the Fishing Side Quest to obtain this Heart Container. Refer to our Fishing Guide for the full step by step process.

  Link will first need to get the Fishing Rod by uniting Joanne with the Old Wayfarer. He will then need to catch a Skippyjack, a Toona, and a Loovar. These fish must then be shown to the Old Wayfarer. He will give Link the Big Catch Lure. This allows Link to catch Rusty Swordfish. After showing a Rusty Swordfish to the Old Wayfarer, and he will till Link about the legendary fish, Neptoona. Once Neptoona is captured and shown to the Old Wayfarer, the Old Wayfarer will give Link the Heart Container.

  Heart Container #4

  Location: Traveler's Ship

  Conditions: Defeat Nyeve four times

  Set sail for the travelers ship at the Northwest Quadrant. Speak to the man and he will offer to train you. Strike at him a few times and he'll be impressed, rewarding Link with the label of Apprentice to the Hero along with a treasure. Leave the ship and return to battle him once again. Hit him a few times and he'll refer to you as Half a Hero and will reward you with a second treasure. Leave and return once again. Repeatedly strike at him and he'll give in once again, this time referring to you as Two Thirds a Hero. He will give Link yet another treasure.

  Leave and then return for a fourth battle. This time the challenge is much more difficult as the hero will strike back at Link. The goal here is to hit the hero 100 times before he strikes you 3 times. If you successfully hit him over 100 times, he will reward you with a Heart Container.

  Location: Temple of Wind

  Conditions: Defeat Cyclok

  Given to Link as an award after defeating Cyclok, the boss of the Temple of Wind.

  Heart Container #6

  Location: Temple of Courage

  Conditions: Defeat Crayk

  Given to Link as an award after defeating Crayk, the boss of the Temple of Courage.

  Heart Container #7

  Location: Molida Island

  Conditions: Acquire Bow

  After completing the Temple of Courage, Romanos has opened up the Molida Island Shooting Gallery. This mini-game allows you to use your newly acquire Bow to shoot some moving targets. You need to score over 2,000 points in the Shooting Range and this can be quite difficult. Hitting consecutive targets without missing will up your score and is essential to reach 2,000 points. Try to avoid the human targets that come across near the end of the game.

  Location: Ghost Ship

  Conditions: Defeat Cubus Sisters

  Given to Link as an award after defeating the Cubus Sisters, the boss of the Ghost Ship.

  Location: Goron Temple

  Conditions: Defeat Dongorongo

  Given to Link as an award after defeating Dongorongo, the boss of the Goron Temple.

• 

  Heart Container #10

  Location: Island Shop

  Conditions: 2,000 Rupees

  After purchasing both the Quiver Upgrade and Bombchu Upgrade from one of the stores, a valuable Heart Container becomes available for sale. You can purchase this Heart Container for 1,500 Rupees and it is available at any of the shops at Mercay Island, Molida Island, or Goron Island.

  Location: Temple of Ice

  Conditions: Defeat Gleeok

  Given to Link as an award after defeating Gleeok, the boss of the Temple of Ice.

  Location: Maze Island
