Phanna

Phanna is a character from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Phanna can be founding tending to the horses over at the Highland Stable. She loves horses and will be willing to customize any of Link's horses that he has registered over at a stable. However, she will only customize a horse if Link has a good bond with it and has shown it a lot of love.[1][2]

When Link talks to her with one of his horses nearby, she offers to change her Mane, Gear, or Saddle.[3] The various Mane options are set, where Link will need to acquire various Saddles and Bridles on his journey. The various Saddles and Bridles that Link can give to his horse to wear are purely cosmetic, with the exception of the Ancient Saddle and Ancient Bridle. All other combinations are cosmetic, and Phanna will complement any set that you create, encouraging you to come back if you'd like to change your horses gear.[4]

Phanna will adjust adjust the mane, gear, or saddle, of any of Link's horses with the exception of Epona, as well as the Giant Horse, if Link has caught one as part of the Hunt for the Giant Horse quest. The Giant Horse is too large and Phanna doesn't have any equipment to fit the size of the horse. Additionally, she doesn't think it would like it if its mane was messed with.[5]

While most of the residents of the Highland Stable will run inside while it is raining, Phanna can be found tending to the horses regardless of the weather. Furthermore, she never takes any time off to sleep, and is tending to the horses 24-hours a day.

Tears of the Kingdom

Phanna is one of the workers of the Highland Stable where she can be found tending to the Horses. While she loves the horses, she also loves the scenery and she'll give Link a list of diffrent scenic spots for him to visit on his horse.[6][7]

She first suggestions visiting the Lakeside Stable to the east, and then going even further to visit Lurelin Village. Although she then stops short of recommending that, as she recently heard that pirates attacked Lureline Village and she's unsure of the town's fate.[8]

Phanna also recommends checking out the Zonai Ruins, found just north of the path heading east, just beyond the Floria River. She loves the beauty of nature in this forest and the very old ruins that can be found here. Up above, there is a jet-black thundercloud that has appeared ever since the Upheaval. While she acknowledges that a horse cannot reach up into the sky, it's nice to just gaze at from below.[9]

Phanna recommends visiting Lake Hylia to the northwest. However, she warns Link that a Flame Gleeok can be found camping out at the bridge. She's a bit too scared of monsters, so she has kept her distance.[10]

Finally, Phanna's favorite place is to take a ride on her horse, down the southern coastline. Passing by Martha's Landing, the Komo Shoreline, and Puffer Beach. Although she mentions that swarms of flying monsters can be found here, coming out of caves. She is referring to Keese, which can fly just as fast as a horse, so she advises Link to be careful.[11]

While not one of her suggestions, she also mentions that some travelers have recently come by, wanting to head said to visit the Lake of the Horse God. They were looking for a giant white stallion.[12]

  4. That looks great! Please come back anytime you feel like changing your horse's gear! - Phanna
  5. If you like, I change out its gear or maybe... Oh? My goodness, that's no pony, is it? It's so big! I'm sorry, but I don't think I have any gear that'd fit such a large horse, and I bet it wouldn't like its mane handled... I'm so sorry about that. - Phanna
  6. "Yes? Need something, sir? I'm in the middle of tending to the horses, but I can multitask, hehe! We have a lot of happy horses roaming free around Highland Stable, so if you need one, you're in the right place. Then you can ride it north or south or wherever you feel like going! I know some scenic spots for you and your horse to visit, if you're interested!" — Phanna, Tears of the Kingdom
  7. "I've got plenty more scenic spots to recommend! Just say the word!" — Phanna, Tears of the Kingdom
  8. "Great! Let's get scenic! My first suggestion has to be the stable nearby. It's called Lakeside Stable. You'll find it if you take the road toward the east, at the edge of Lake Floria. From there, my next suggestion's nearby. Go farther east, turn south at the ocean, and you'll reach a resort town. Lurelin Village, it's called. The perfect place for weary travelers looking to relax! Wait... What am I thinking? We got word the other day that pirates attacked Lurelin Village. Since then, I haven't heard a peep about the town's fate. So, what I said about Lurelin Village being a good place to relax? Scratch that." — Phanna, Tears of the Kingdom
  9. "All right! Here's a location that's been a mystery long as anyone can remember. A good spot for true adventure! To reach it, first ride north until you enter a thickly wooded forest. Then travel east until you cross Floria River—and there, go immediately north into a rain forest. You will find yourself what folks have long called...the Zonai Ruins. Very old ruins—VERY old! I can't imagine a better place for steeping yourself in nature's beauty and ancient history at the same time. In the air above the Zonai Ruins is a jet-black thundercloud that's been there since the Upheaval. You can see it from here, in fact. And... Am I seeing things, or is there something inside the cloud? That's a great scenic spot to visit as well. Or it would be. But there's no horse that can get you up there. The best you can do is gaze at it from below." — Phanna, Tears of the Kingdom
  10. "OK! My third scenic spot is Lake Hylia in the northwest! Your horse shouldn't go IN the lake, of course. But you two can take a thilling ride across the Bridge of Hylia! One problem though... I heard an unsettling rumor. Sounds like there's a big monster camping out on the bridge. If you're as scared of monsters as I am, you might want to keep your distance." — Phanna, Tears of the Kingdom
  11. "All right! Ready? I saved my favorite scenic spot for last! Though it's kind of big to be called a "spot"... It's the southern coastline! Picture this—you and your horse riding from Martha's Landing to Komo Shoreline and the Puffer Beach. You hear the waves lapping against the beach... feel the cool sea breeze cutting through your clothes... while your horse's hooves pound faster and faster against the ground! Ahhh! There's nothing better! On a horse, you'll be able to outrun any monsters that spot you too. Except...last time I rode to Puffer Beach, there was a swarm of flying monsters waiting for me. They cam screeching out of a cave in the ceiling of this rocky area. Really caught me by surprise! I'm not a flying-thing-ologist, but I guess they were nesting there? Anyway, those things can move as fast as horses, so watch out for them." — Phanna, Tears of the Kingdom
  12. "And that concludes my guide to all the scenic spots! I hope you enjoyed it! I had a couple customers recently who weren't interested in any of my recommendations. Can you believe that? They said they were headed south toward the Lake of the Horse God and didn't have time for detours. I believe they wanted to find the giant white stallion or the god of horses. Anyway... I appreciate you taking an interest in my scenic spots! Come talk to me again anytime!" — Phanna, Tears of the Kingdom
