Overview

Opal is a material found in Breath of the Wild. It can be obtained from miscellaneous Chests in the game, from mining Ore Deposits, and it is also a common drop from the Stone Talus. It is required if Link wants to purchase the Opal Earrings from Fashion Passion in Gerudo Town, since 8 are necessary in the manufacture. Alternatively, they can be sold to shop-vendors such as Beedle for 60 Rupees each.

Locations

Opal is one of the more common Gems found in the game, with only Amber being more common. It can be found abundantly in treasure chests early on in Link's quest, including on the Great Plateau, in the Dueling Peaks region, and within Hateno.

  • Underwater in the pond next to the Oman Au Shrine on the Great Plateau.
  • In the treasure chest in the ice lake, just outside the Keh Namut Shrine on the Great Plateau.
  • Behind the bombable wall down by the water, just west of the Temple of Time on the Great Plateau.
