The Nightmare Key is the name for the Boss Keys found in Link's Awakening. There is one in every dungeon, and it is usually found by opening a Treasure Chest, solving a puzzle, or defeating a Mini-Boss. It allows Link to enter the lair of the dungeon's Nightmare. [1] The door to the lair is locked and cannot be opened without it.[2]
