An old saying goes, "The dragon ascends to the heavens as the sun begins to set," but nobody has seen this in the current age. The ice that coats its body makes it dangerous to get near, but Naydra bears no ill will toward people."

Naydra is one of three dragons found in Breath of the Wild. It can be found roaming the area surrounding Mount Lanayru in the early morning.

It can first be encountered at the peak of Mount Lanayru, being covered in Malice.

Drops and Uses

Naydra can drop four items, including Naydra's Scale, Naydra's Claw, Shard of Naydra's Fang, and Shard of Naydra's Horn.

Out of the three elemental dragon spirits, Naydra is the dragon with the least spawning points in the game with just one. One recommended location to wait for Naydra is by the gateway to Mount Lanyru at around 5:00AM. It tends to circle the peak of the mountain before heading down through the Promenade. Catch an updraft from Naydra to get closer, then fire an arrow from the air. Note that Naydra may not spawn if you wait at the same location too many times in a row, or during adverse weather.

Another location is placing a fire under the East Gate of Lanayru Road, as it's a place far enough from Naydra's spawning point from where the spawning can be regularly observed; placing a fire under the archway prevents the wood from getting wet if it's raining. Once you've rested until morning, run/climb to the small rock peak directly south of the archway, which is the point closest to Naydra's path. It's important to climb fast, as the Lynel closeby may spot you if you linger for too long.

Shrine Quests

Naydra is involved in The Spring of Wisdom shrine quest in order to uncover Jitan Sa'mi Shrine at Mount Lanayru. Link must remove the Malice accursing Naydra procure a scale to drop in the Spring of Wisdom, which will open the door to the shrine.
