The King Moblin is a Mini-Boss in Link's Awakening. He is the leader of the group of Moblins that resides in their hideout at Tal Tal Heights. He kidnaps Madam MeowMeow's pet Chain Chomp, BowWow.

Story

When Link returns from Tail Cave, the Island Quadruplets frantically try inform him that the King Moblin and his gang invaded Mabe Village and stole BowWow.[1] Madam MeowMeow explains further, screaming about her precious BowWow.[2] Link heads off to the hideout near Goponga Swamp to rescue him.

When Link arrives at the hideout, he must fight through two rooms filled with regular Moblins who attack him on sight.[3] At the end, he will reach the room that the Great Moblin stays in. The Great Moblin guesses that Link is an assassin from Madam MeowMeow, so he attacks.[4]

Battle

The King Moblin usually begins the battle by shooting arrows at Link. They can be avoided by jumping over them with Roc's Feather or just moving out of the way. Once he is done shooting arrows, he charges at Link. If he doesn't have time to stop when he misses Link, he will crash into the wall and get dizzy. This is Link's opportunity to hit him with his sword. This process can be repeated until Link hits him eight times with the normal sword, and then the King Moblin dies. After the battle, Link can move on into the next room to rescue BowWow.[5]
