In order to reach the monk, the switch at the north end of the room must be pressed down. This can be done by using Magnesis and grabbing the treasure chest that is on the left side.

To begin, hit the crystal 3 times or until it is aligned with the platform the crystal is on.

Place a bomb next to the crystal, get on the platform, and then detonate the bomb to ride the platform to the only chest.

On the platform directly across from the crystal is a switch. Use Magnesis to move the chest you just opened and put it on that switch. This will open a gate to the altar.

Return to the crystal, hit it 3 more times and the moving platform will be back at the crystal again. That's the end of the easy part.

You now have to hit the crystal 3 times, all while riding the moving platform around to the final platform.

To prepare, place a bomb next to the crystal, and look across the way where a laser is blocked by a metal cube. First, use Stasis on the laser emitter, and then quickly use magnesis to move the cube out of the way. Get on the moving platform before Stasis ends, and the laser will be hit #1, moving you once.

The second hit is easy: Shoot the crystal with an arrow. That will move you again.

And the final hit, detonate the bomb you left there from the beginning. That will move you a final time, and you can reach the altar for a Spirit Orb.

Alternative Solutions
#1
Use Magnesis to move the cube between platform with crystal and platform with chest. Use Paraglider to reach the cube, now use Magnesis to get the only one chest. Hit the crystal two times (block the laser by cube) to rotate the moving platform in front of the platform with crystal. Move the cube on the top of the moving platform. Use sprint and then Paraglider to get on the cube. Use Paraglider again to get on the platform with with gate to the altar. Use Magnesis to move the cube on platform with button on the right, that will open the gate, and you can reach the altar for a Spirit Orb.

Another solution is to simply move the cube (using Magnesis) out of the path of the laser, then use Stasis on the laser emitter which will cause the laser to stop.  When the laser begins again it will strike the crystal and move the platform.  The Stasis rune has a large enough range that you can stop the laser emitter from any part of the room.  You simply stand on the platform, time stop the laser emitter, and wait to be moved.  You can then move either the chest or the cube (again, using Magnesis) to the switch to hold open the door.
As with many shrines in Breath of the Wild, there are numerous solutions to this puzzle, although it can be a bit tricky. Note that the laser in the room is being blocked by a large metallic block. If this block is moved, the laser will hit the crystal switch, rotating the platform. Link can use Stasis on the laser statue to temporary freeze it, which will cause the laser to strike the crystal when it unfreezes. Link can also uses Magnesis to control the large block and move it between the laser and the crystal, and then drop it, causing the laser to strike the switch again.

Solutions
This shrine contains a Crystal Switch sort of behind you to your right as you enter. This shock crystal rotates a platform in the center of the room clockwise through four positions every time the crystal is hit. A metal crate blocks a laser directed at the crystal.
*In almost all cases, Link will need to hit the crystal switch a total of three times in order to make it to the monk.
*In almost all cases, Link will also need to use Magnesis to grab the treasure chest and place it on the floor switch, opening the gate that leads to the monk.

You can hit the crystal in a few ways: With a melee weapon, with an arrow, with a bomb, by no longer obstructing the laser, and by the crystal coming out of stasis while the laser is unobstructed. The last one involves timing and is unnecessary for the riddle.
Solution #1
*Move the block so that it is completely out of the way and not involved with the puzzle at all. It is possible to use the block on the floor switch instead of the treasure chest.
*Stand on the rotating platform and repeatedly uses Stasis on the laser statue. Each time it freezes and unfreezes, the laser will strike the crystal switch, rotating the platform. Link can use Stasis on the laser statue from anywhere in the room.

To begin, place a bomb next to the crystal for later, and put the iron crate to the floor using Magnesis (this will unobstruct the laser and trigger the switch). Then hit the crystal with a melee weapon until you can enter the platform.
Solution #2
*Place a bomb next to the crystal switch, but do not detonate it.
*Move the metallic block so that it anywhere near the center of the room.
*Standing on the rotating platform and grab the metal block with Magnesis. Move it so that it blocks the laser, and then move it away. The laser will strike the crystal, rotating the platform.
*Shoot an arrow at the crystal to rotate the moving platform again.
*Detonate the bomb to hit the crystal a third time and reach the area that leads to the Monk.

Now you can use the crate to shortly interrupt the laser again. When you remove it from the laser, the crystal will activate. Hold on to the crate and ride the platform to the only chest.
Solution #3
*Move the Metal block and place it in front of the ledge that leads to the treasure chest.
*Climb near the crystal and then leap off and use the Paraglider to reach the metal block.
*Use Magnesis to grab the treasure chest and place it on the floor switch.
*Return to the crystal switch and hit the orb so the moving platform is nearby.
*Use Magnesis to place the large metal block on top of the moving platform.
*Climb on top of the block and use the paraglider to travel over to the area that leads to the Monk.

Shoot the crystal with an arrow and ride to the switch, which you can now hold down with the crate to open the door to the altar.

For the final hit, detonate the bomb you left by the switch at the beginning. That will move you a final time, and you can reach the altar for a Spirit Orb.

Shrine Quest: The Crowned Beast

Main article: The Crowned Beast

Talk to Kass to begin the Shrine Quest. Kass will give you a musical hint and it will require Link to find a Mountain Buck.[1]

Find a mountain buck in the area, mount it, and ride it to the pedestal next to Kass to complete the quest and unlock the shrine. This will be similar to mounting a wild horse and the best bet is to use the Stealth Set if you have it, as well as crouching down and slowly sneaking up on the buck.

Ancient Trifecta

This shrine contains a crystal switch located to the right from where you enter the shrine. When struck, this crystal rotates a platform in the center of the room clockwise through four positions. The area on the left has a treasure chest, the area on the opposite side has a floor switch, and the area on the right is where the Monk is located. In order to reach the monk, the switch at the north end of the room must be pressed down. This can be done by using Magnesis and grabbing the treasure chest that is on the left side.

Solutions

 • In almost all cases, Link will need to hit the crystal switch a total of three times in order to make it to the monk.
 • In almost all cases, Link will also need to use Magnesis to grab the treasure chest and place it on the floor switch, opening the gate that leads to the monk.

Solution #1

 • Move the block so that it is completely out of the way and not involved with the puzzle at all. It is possible to use the block on the floor switch instead of the treasure chest.
 • Stand on the rotating platform and repeatedly uses Stasis on the laser statue. Each time it freezes and unfreezes, the laser will strike the crystal switch, rotating the platform. Link can use Stasis on the laser statue from anywhere in the room.

Solution #2

 • Place a bomb next to the crystal switch, but do not detonate it.
 • Move the metallic block so that it anywhere near the center of the room.
 • Standing on the rotating platform and grab the metal block with Magnesis. Move it so that it blocks the laser, and then move it away. The laser will strike the crystal, rotating the platform.
 • Shoot an arrow at the crystal to rotate the moving platform again.
 • Detonate the bomb to hit the crystal a third time and reach the area that leads to the Monk.

Solution #3

 • Move the Metal block and place it in front of the ledge that leads to the treasure chest.
 • Climb near the crystal and then leap off and use the Paraglider to reach the metal block.
 • Use Magnesis to grab the treasure chest and place it on the floor switch.
 • Return to the crystal switch and hit the orb so the moving platform is nearby.
 • Use Magnesis to place the large metal block on top of the moving platform.
 • Climb on top of the block and use the paraglider to travel over to the area that leads to the Monk.
