A Mau, also known as a Wolf Head, is an enemy that appears exclusively in The Adventure of Link.
Mau are animated wolf-headed statues that decorate the walls of the Island Palace, Maze Island Palace, Palace on the Sea and Hidden Palace. They move slowly up and down in patterns through the air while shooting beams at Link. Mau are incredibly frail and defeated with a single attack regardless of Link's attack level. Contact with Mau causes Link to lose 10 experience points.
