A Mau, also known as a Wolf Head, is an enemy that appears exclusively in The Adventure of Link.

Maus are animated wolf-headed statues that decorate the walls of the Island Palace, Maze Island Palace, Ocean Palace and Hidden Palace. They move slowly up and down in patterns through the air while shooting beams at Link. These beams only cause half of damage, same like the contact with the head itself. Link also loses experience points upon contact with a Mau.
