Maus are animated wolf-headed statues that decorate the walls of the [[Island Palace]], [[Maze Island Palace]], [[Ocean Palace]] and [[Hidden Palace]]. They move slowly up and down in patterns through the air while shooting beams at [[Link]]. These beams only cause half of damage, same like the contact with the head itself. Link also will lose experience points upon contact with the Maus.

Maus are considerably weaker than [[Ra]] and are easily destroyed. They frequently appear in large swarms, and the battle will be tough. Link can use his [[Thunder Spell]] to quickly eliminate all of them. Link gains 5 experience points for defeating a Mau.
