Master Smith is Link's grandfather in The Minish Cap. He is very skilled in swordsmithing. He lives in a house with Link and has a locale where he works with his swordsmithing.
In the beginning of The Minish Cap, Princess Zelda sneaks out of the Hyrule Castle just to meet Link to tell him that there is a Picori Festival and that she wants Link to go there together with her.
