May 31, Mario Kart 8 is a game released for the Wii U, and ported to the Nintendo Switch as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It was the first game in the Mario Kart series to feature assets from The Legend of Zelda series.

The The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8 DLC was released on November 13, 2014, for 
$7.99 and included the following material, including several pieces from the Zelda series. The pack was subsequently included in the base game of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

A Breath of the Wild-inspired free update for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released on July 20, 2018 , comprising a Champion's Tunic-based costume for Link, the Master Cycle Zero, the Paraglider and "Ancient Tires".
