Mamamu Yan lives in Castle Town and is the proud owner of her dog named Richard. Her dog is known to be faster than any dogs around. At night, Mamamu Yan can't find her dog. If Link finds it amongst the flock of dogs in the Market and bring it to her, she will thank Link, and give him a Piece of Heart. She later moves to Kakariko Village where she will let Talon stay over due to him being fired by Ingo from the Lon Lon Ranch.

Mamamu Yan lives in her own Home, located near the southwest portion of Lynna City. She is the self-proclaimed top dog breeder in Lynna City. She claims that her dog is much cuter than any other dog in town, however he is shy. Link can trade the Doggie Mask he obtains from the Happy Mask Salesman to Mamamu Yan. In return, she will give Link the Dumbbell as part of the Trading Sequence.
After Link goes to Holodrum, with his journeys in Labrynna complete, he can find Mamamu Yan's Mother in Spool Swamp, located in the western portion of the land. Her mother will tell Link a Secret to take back to Mamamu Yan in Labrynna. Revealing this secret to her will result in Mamamu Yan asking Link to find her dog, who is running around in a random location in Lynna City. If Link successfully finds her dog and returns him, Mamamu Yan will give Link a ring that, when appraised, becomes the Snowshoe Ring. Wearing this ring will prevent Link from sliding on frozen floors.
