Mamamu Yan is a reoccurring character in the Zelda Series.

Mamamu Yan is the self-proclaimed top dog breeder in Lynna City. She claims that her dog is much cuter than any other dog in town, however he is shy. Link can trade the Doggie Mask he obtains from the Happy Mask Salesman to Mamamu Yan. In return, she will give Link the Dumbbell as part of the Trading Sequence.
After Link goes to Holodrum, with his journeys in Labrynna complete, he can find Mamamu Yan's Mother in Spool Swamp, located in the western portion of the land. Her mother will tell Link a Secret to take back to Mamamu Yan in Labrynna. Revealing this secret to her will result in Mamamu Yan asking Link to find her dog, who is running around in a random location in Lynna City. If Link successfully finds her dog and returns him, Mamamu Yan will give Link a ring that, when appraised, becomes the Snowshoe Ring. Wearing this ring will prevent Link from sliding on frozen floors.
