MASTER USING IT AND YOU CAN HAVE THIS

The Magical Sword is an item in The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link.

The Legend of Zelda

The Magical Sword is the final and most powerful sword in The Legend of Zelda. It is easily the most powerful weapon Link can use, performing twice as much damage as the White Sword and four times as much damage as the original Sword.[2]

It can be obtained once Link has accumulated 12 Heart Containers. In the First Quest, he can take those 12 Heart Containers and head to the Graveyard, where, in the top-right screen of the Graveyard, he can push a specific grave to reveal a hidden underground area. Inside, the Old Man says to Link, "MASTER USING IT AND YOU CAN HAVE THIS."[3] If Link has 12 Heart Containers, he is able to pick up the sword. However, if he has less than 12 Hearts, he is unable to claim it as his own.

Using the Magical Sword makes most enemies very simple, as one hit defeats most enemies easily.

The Adventure of Link

The Legend of Zelda: Encyclopedia indicates that Link retains the Magical Sword between The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link.[4]

During the events of The Adventure of Link, it cannot be upgraded; instead, Link can increase his attack power with experience points gained in battle. The sword can also be used to pick up things like Point Bags and Keys. Like in The Legend of Zelda, Link can produce a Sword Beam when his health is full.

Non-Canon Appearances

BS The Legend of Zelda

"I wonder if you know about the Magical Sword. It is a stronger sword than the White Sword. An old man at the base of the rocky mountain found the Magical Sword. You should get it by any means... Hero, the Evil King is after the Magical Sword and Red Ring. You will not be able to obtain them if the Evil King finds them. Do not let the two pass to his hands. It'd be terrible if he has them!"

The Magical Sword is available for only ten minutes during Week 4, between 25 and 35 past the hour, before Ganon takes it to prevent the hero from obtaining it. It is found in a cave beside a lake, one screen west of Level 7, though accessible only from the south rather than east. As in The Legend of Zelda, it is easily the most powerful sword in the game.

"Good at penetrating defenses, but weak against impact."

— Character Profile description of the Magic Sword set

The Magic Sword [sic] is one of Link's weapons in Soulcalibur II, paired with the Magic Shield.

Its design is loosely based on the Magical Sword from the The Legend of Zelda's Instruction Booklet, most obviously in the blue and red grip. It also incorporates the "three triangles" Triforce design introduced in The Adventure of Link and used as one of the main branding elements of the Zelda series thereafter.

Hyrule Warriors

The Magical Sword is the third-level version of Link's Hylian Sword weapon and has the Light element.

While the design as a whole is new, it incorporates design elements from the Adventure of Link version; such as red diamond patterning, and details in the hilt and pommel.
