The Life Potion, also known as the Water of Life, is a healing item from The Legend of Zelda and BS The Legend of Zelda.

The Legend of Zelda

"Drink this and all of Link's LIFE hearts will turn red. Red water turns blue when Link sips it. Drink the blue water and that's the last of the water."

Life Potion sprite from The Legend of Zelda

The Life Potion is one of two Bottle items found in The Legend of Zelda. This potion will restore Link's health completely if he drinks it. The Life Potion can be bought from the Old Woman at any of the Potion Shops across Hyrule. These shops will only open after Link has, firstly, collected the Letter from the Old Man, and secondly he has shown the Letter to the Old Woman. From now on, Link can buy the Life Potion at these shops for the price of 40 Rupees, or the 2nd Potion for 68. The 2nd Potion turns into the Life Potion after being used once.

Non-Canon Appearances

This section describes a subject that is or may be outside the core Zelda canon.

BS The Legend of Zelda

As in the original game, Life Potion can be bought from Old Woman at any Potion Shop for 40 rupees after showing her the Letter, and functions the same way. It is also purchasable from a merchant outside Level 5 of MAP1 for 10 rupees between the 10 and 34 minute marks of Week 3. Buying it a second time while Life Potion is still in the inventory upgrades it to a 2nd Potion.
