Legend Mode is the story mode of Hyrule Warriors. Divided into individual levels, called "Scenarios". The original release of Hyrule Warriors on Wii U had seventeen scenarios, to which five more were added as purchasable DLC. Hyrule Warriors Legends and Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition both include this DLC, plus nine additional scenarios for a sum total of thirty-one scenarios.
The story takes place in an alternate Child Timeline from the main Zelda canon, but incorporates versions of Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword through time travel. Hyrule Warriors Legends and Definitive Edition add The Wind Waker-based scenarios as an alternate world which briefly becomes intertwined with the "main" Hyrule of the game.
