"A mask inspired by those fun-loving Koroks. It shakes when one is hiding nearby. It's a rather rare find."

Breath of the Wild In-Game Description

The Korok Mask is a special piece of armor found in the Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass and in Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

The Korok Mask has a base defense of 1, and can be obtained through the EX Strange Mask Rumors quest, available as part of 'The Master Trials', the first half of the Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass DLC.

It helps Link to find many of the hidden Koroks scattered across the land of Hyrule. If Link is in close proximity to a Korok, the mask will begin to rattle and shake, whilst also emitting particle effects, similar in appearance to the Koroks' fairy lights.

It is the only piece of DLC equipment to have a unique function as all other items exclusive to DLC re-use existing abilities.

After Link has obtained this item for the first time, he will be able to purchase it from Granté in Tarrey Town for 50 Rupees.

Location

This mask can be found in the southern area of the Lost Woods. Be sure to check our Breath of the Wild Interactive Map for a more precise location.

Tears of the Kingdom

This Tears of the Kingdom section is a stub. You can help the Zelda Dungeon Wiki by expanding it.

The Korok Mask can be obtained by clearing the Forest Coliseum. This involves by activating the Yiga trap by taking the middle bananas, then fighting a Gloom-wreathed Black Hinox.

Trivia

  • The mask's design is based on the Korok Makar's facial leaf from The Wind Waker.
  • The mask features a paper windmill similar to the ones scattered all over Hyrule that signal the presence of a hidden Korok. Link wears the windmill as a hair bun stick.
