Although not referred to as "King Dodongo", it can be presumed that the boss of The Legend of Zelda's second dungeon is King Dodongo, however, he is identical to the Dodongos found in the Fifth Dungeon. The method of defeat used against King Dodongo in The Legend of Zelda is similar to his later appearances. King Dodongo can be defeated by having bombs placed in front of him while he walks.
