The Hylian Shield is Links most famous shield, making many appearances. Its a fairly durable shield, not burning and absorbing tons of damage. In Twilight Princess andSkyward Sword they are Links last shield.

Properties

The Hylian Shield is a metal shield, and therefore doesn't burn. It's very durable, capable of blocking a large variety of attacks without breaking. It is the sheild the hylian soldiers use in war.

Ocarina of Time

You can find the Hylian Shield in a grave in the Graveyard at Kakariko Village, or buy it from the Bazaar for 80 rupees. It is the second shield you receive in the game.

Twilight Princess

You can buy it at Malo's shop for 200 rupees. It is the final shield you receive in the game.

Skyward Sword

In Skyward Sword the Hylian Shield is the last shield in the game, and crafted by using the Upgrade System. This is the last shield in the game, and is incredibly durable, sustaining a large number of hits and taking very little damage at the same time. This shields durability meter is also much higher than all the other shields.

Trivia

The Fighters Shield in A Link to the Past is incredibly similar judging by the official artwork posted by Nintendo. This shield was probably the basis for the Hylian Shield. The Hero's Shield inMajora's Mask and The Wind Waker are both very similar also, being based off of the Hylian Shield.
