The Horseback Obstacle Course is a mini-game located at the Highland Stable, southeast of the Lake Tower. Speak with Blynne, who can be found wandering around the front of the stable, or sitting next to the Cooking Pot. He is a champion horseback rider and challenges Link to take part in his obstacle course.
Speak with Blynne while riding a horse to take on the challenge. It will cost Link 20 Rupees to play.[1] The rules of the Horseback Obstacle Course are simple. There are 10 obstacles that Link will need to jump over while on his horse. He can navigate around the lake clockwise or counterclockwise, but he must jump over all 10 obstacles. After jumping over the 10th obstacle, Link then needs to ride back to the stable to cross the finish line.[2]
Ideally, Link's horse only has to gallop full speed just once to reach the goal before Blynne's record time, but approaching the obstacles at an odd angle may cause the horse to avoid them or rear, losing time. The optimal angle of approach for the obstacles is 90 degrees perpendicularly, so it's okay to accommodate for the correct angle with enough terrain for the horse to canter and clear the obstacles comfortably and unimpeded.
