"This massive boomerang requires two hands. Originally used for hunting, it was modified for use as a weapon. The blades on the inner curves make it a bit tricky to wield."

Breath of the Wild In-Game Description

The Giant Boomerang is a two handed weapon found in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Giant Boomerangs have a base power of 25, and can be found in various locations across Hyrule, including as a drop from Hinoxes. This weapon can be used as a sword, through means of melee attacks, but can also be thrown like a traditional boomerang. If one hits a solid object, it will lose all momentum and drop to the ground. In order to retrieve a boomerang after it has been thrown, the player must hit the A button as it nears Link. In the case of this not happening, it will keep going for a small distance and drop to the ground, where it can be picked up.

Unlike other one-handed boomerang weapons in Breath of the Wild, the Master Cycle Zero will brake when the player attempts to throw the Giant Boomerang while riding.

The most common way of obtaining a Giant Boomerang is by killing a Stalnox, such as the one on Satori Mountain.

Age of Calamity

Giant Boomerangs are a weapon type available only to Link, used with his Two-Handed Weapon moveset.

Tears of the Kingdom

"A massive boomerang that is weathered and decayed. It was originally used for hunting, but it can be a challenge to wield. Thrown well, it will come back to the thrower."

Tears of the Kingdom In-Game Description

As a result of The Upheaval, most Giant Boomerangs found in the game are significantly decayed, now with a base power of 11. However, undecayed Giant Boomerangs can be found in the Depths being held by the lingering spirits of Hyrule Soldiers atop numerous pedestals. These are distinguished by the name "Giant Boomerang✨" and have a base power of 23. They can be either thrown as boomerangs in combat or used like standard two-handed weapons.
