In addition to extreme temperatures, travel through the Gerudo Desert is complicated by sandstorms which can cause a loss of visibility. Deep sand also slows down travel. The desert is littered with the bones of gigantic creatures long dead and forgotten, aside from the [[Gerudo Great Skeleton]], which is the only complete skeletal remains in the desert of such nature, as the rest appear to be reduced to ribcages and vertebrae. Most of the [[Gerudo]] buildings in the desert are reduced to ruins and partly buried in the sand.

"This southwestern desert is known for dangerous sandstorms that even the Gerudo, experts when it comes to these phenomena, avoid. There are other facilities outside of Gerudo Town, including an observation post for watching the Divine Beast Vah Naboris and the Kara Kara Bazaar."

Gerudo Desert is a location found in Breath of the Wild and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. It is part of the larger Wasteland Tower region, which is located in the southwesternmost part of Hyrule, and is home to the Gerudo, who live primarily in Gerudo Town. It is also home to the Great Fairy Tera, who can be found in the southwest corner of the Gerudo Desert by the Gerudo Great Skeleton. The Gerudo Desert is the only place in Hyrule where the Molduga and the Molduking can be found living.
