Geldarms are enemies that have appeared in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.

Appearances

The Adventure of Link

Geldarm is a strange bug that makes its home in the deserts of Hyrule. It stays low to the ground until their prey draws near. It will extend its long body segment out of the ground and attempts to capture whatever comes by.[1] It can emerge out of the ground randomly to hurt its enemy. Geldarm also can attack by spitting small stones towards its enemy.

Only its head is vulnerable to attack. So, Link must slash at its body to make it contract to the ground for a few seconds; then kill it with a few slash with the sword in its head.[2][3]
