Fountain Idol
Template:Item The Fountain Idol is a Trading Sequence item that appears in The Wind Waker. Link can obtain it from the Traveling Merchants on Bomb Island or Greatfish Isle, or from the Windfall Island Shop after trading with them. He carries it in his Delivery Bag.[1]
If Link trades them a Big Catch Flag or Sickle Moon Flag, both merchants offer a Fountain Idol in return.[2][3][4][5] The same happens when Link shows them a Skull Tower Idol or Postman Statue.[6][7][8][9] They both require 65 Rupees as payment in addition to the item being traded.[10][11]
Upon trading, they form the "merchant's oath", which causes the merchants to send shipments of the Fountain Idol to Windfall Island.[12][13] When Link next visits the shop, Zunari is selling the Fountain Idol for 60 Rupees.[14] Link can also place the Fountain Idol in any of the Joy Pedestals around Windfall.[1]
Link can then give the Fountain Idol to one of the three merchants in order to receive a new item. On Bomb Island, he is offered a Sickle Moon Flag, as long as he pays 40 Rupees.[15][16] The merchant of Greatfish Isle gives him the Skull Tower Idol for a price of 100 Rupees.[17][18] If he shows it to the merchant on Mother and Child Isles, he receives the Big Sale Flag for 35 Rupees.[19][20]
