Flagship was an independent Japanese video game developer, founded on April 24th, 1997. The game developer was initially funded by Capcom, Nintendo, and Sega. Initially they were used in support, creating scenarios for games developed by other studios, including material for games in the Resident Evil and Onimusha franchises.

Beginning in 2001, Nintendo and Capcom began a relationship and the Flagship studio was put in charge of development for Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. They would later go on to work on the Game Boy Advance remake of A Link to the Past, which included Four Swords. A couple years later, Flagship also developed their final Zelda game, in The Minish Cap.
