The Fishing Rod is an item which can be found in four Zelda games. It's specifically designed for catching various types of fish. Link can often fish at nearby by Fishing Ponds.
Appearances
Link's Awakening
In Link's Awakening Link can not actually obtain the Fishing Rod, but he can rent it for 10 Rupees from the Fisherman located north, above Madam MeowMeow's house. Link is only able to fish in one area, which is also located where the fisherman is.
Ocarina of Time
In Ocarina of Time Link can only obtain the Fishing Rod by renting it from the Fisherman for 20 Rupees. Link can only use the Fishing Rod in the pond area.
