Appearances

A Link to the Past

In A Link to the Past, a fish can be caught in the drained water in the south of Light World. If Link throws the fish back in the pond, it will say 'Thank You' and will then give Link a number of Rupees. Furthermore, when Link goes to the Bottle Merchant and gives him the fish, he will give Link a variety of items.

Link's Awakening

The Fish in Link's Awakening are really weak enemies, but can be a bit unpredictable. They can be found in flooded caves and in Goponga Swamp, swimming back and forth under the water. Link will be able to see where the fish is located by its fin that sticks out of the water like a shark. Occasionally, it will jump out of the water, leaving it open for attack. There is no way to harm the fish while it is underwater, so when it jumps out of the water, Link can slash it with his sword.

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, Link can store fish in a Bottle and catch them in the Fishing Pond. It is also required to enter Jabu-Jabu's Belly in order to defeat the third boss, Barinade. dropping a fish in front of him will result of him opening his mouth and sucking in Link. In the Fishing Pond, Link can be rewarded with the Golden Scale if he catches a 13 pound fish.

Majora's Mask

Oracle of Seasons

When Link helps Ingo to finish his collection of Goron Vases, he will give Link a blue tiny fish in return of his gratitude. The fish is later being given to Mittens' Owner to let his cat come down from a tree. After Link has helped Mittens' Owner getting his cat come down to him, he rewards Link with the Megaphone.
