It is the master of the [[Faron Province]], and it's spring is the location of the game's opening cutscene. It informs Link of his destiny as the chosen hero of [[Hyrule]], and gives him the Hero's Clothes. It appears as an immense monkey/scorpion creature, with a monkey's head an a lengthy spiked tail.

Faron the Water Dragon is a large, blue reptile-like deity who resides in the Faron area in Skyward Sword (hence the name). She is one of the "Three Dragons" that guard the land below the Sky, The other being [[Lanayru]] the Thunder Dragon and [[Eldin]] the Fire Dragon. Their leader is [[Levias]] the dragon of the skies, whom Link must save from being possessed by the evil spirit [[Bilocyte]]. Throughout the game she stays very skeptical of [[Link]]'s abilities and is a very important character in the whole story of ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword|Skyward Sword]]''. She is also very strict about manners and will often correct the hero for being impolite. After completing the Silent Realm of the Faron Woods, Link will be rewarded with the Water Dragon's Scale, an item that belongs to the Water Dragon and allows him to swim underwater and do spin-attacks while paddling along.
