The '''Fairy Islands''' are a series of islands in the [[Great Sea]] in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker|The Wind Waker]]''. Each of the islands is shaped like a heart, but the hearts are all facing different directions. On every Fairy Island is a conch shell-like structure in the middle, and the islands themselves seem small and empty. If [[Link]] enters the structure in the middle, however, he enters what seems like a whole new world. The walls seem like falling raindrops, and there is a monument with a little bit of water in a quiet, serene room decorated with seashells. When Link walks towards the fountain, he notices a small, blonde fairy alone in the middle. That fairy looks at Link, spins around a few times, then explodes in a blast of magic energy and transforms into a [[Great Fairy]]. Each Great Fairy on all of the Fairy Islands looks the same, and each gives Link some upgrade to him that will help him on his adventure. This is the only Fairy Island that does not have any obstacle blocking Link's way to enter the fairy's fountain. The Great Fairy inside this island will upgrade Link's wallet to 1000 [[Rupee]]s. If Link has already gotten the upgrade from the Great Fairy on [[Outset Island]], then this fairy will upgrade his wallet to be able to hold 5000 Rupees.

This island is also the only one of the Fairy Islands that Link can warp to using the [[Ballad of Gales]] song with his [[Wind Waker]]. Also, there is a [[Piece of Heart]] underwater around this island, but can only be obtained after Link buys the [[Treasure Chart]] from [[Beedle]] and gets the [[Grappling Hook]] from [[Dragon Roost Island]].

Thorned Fairy Island is located two squares east of the Tower of the Gods. The Great Fairy on this island will upgrade Link's Quiver. Additionally, Link can get a Piece of Heart, found from a Sunken Treasure Chest, found from acquiring a Treasure Chart.
