A Barrier of Darkness is a barrier erected by Vaati in Four Swords Adventures. It appears at the end of every stage. The barrier looks like four eyes with lightning between them, surrounded by clouds of darkness.
According to Kaepora Gaebora, the barriers siphon the power from the land and turn the area to dust.[1] In order to progress, the Links must collect 2000 Force Gems to power up the Four Sword and be able to destroy the barriers. The Links must break all four eyes of the barrier in order to destroy it completely and access the next area.
